MUFFLER HANGER RIGHT - USE 71-3761 with 3/8 spacer
Right-side muffler hanger bracket for the exhaust system, used with part 71-3761 and a 3/8 spacer.
This is the right-side muffler hanger, the bracket that holds the silencer up off the frame at its rear mounting point. The catalog note on this one tells you to pair it with part 71-3761 along with a 3/8 spacer when you install it, so plan on having that spacer on hand rather than assuming the bracket bolts up on its own.

It shows up in the exhaust pipes and mufflers section of the parts books, on the right-hand side of the bike, across catalog entries running 1976 to 1979. If your parts book lists 83-7022 instead, that's the older factory number for this same bracket before it got renumbered to 83-7021.
These hangers take a beating from vibration and road grime over the years, so if yours is cracked, rusted through, or missing entirely, that's reason enough to replace it rather than try to straighten what's there.
