SIDE STAND,1968-82 TRIUMPH
Side stand for 1968-82 Triumph twins, the folding prop stand that holds the bike upright when parked.
This is the side stand, sometimes called the prop stand, listed in the catalog for Triumph models from 1968 into the early 80s. It's the folding leg that holds the bike upright when parked, pivoting from a bracket on the frame down by the lower frame rails.

In the parts books this number turns up across the chaincase, gearbox inner cover, and frame sections, which just reflects how many different assemblies reference it rather than the stand living in more than one place - it mounts to the frame like any side stand. The current number 83-1560 replaced the earlier factory number 82-7849, so if your parts book or an old invoice shows that older number, it's the same physical part.
Worth checking the pivot bolt and spring for wear when you're in there, since a tired spring or worn pivot is usually what makes a side stand feel sloppy or fail to hold the bike up on a slope.
