Nut Prop stand stop
A 5/16 inch UNF thin nut used in numerous locations on the bike, including the prop stand stop.
This is a small thin nut, 5/16 inch UNF, that shows up all over the bike wherever a low-profile nut was called for rather than a full-height one. In the parts books it's tied to the prop stand stop, but the catalog record shows it turning up in dozens of other spots too, from fender mounting hardware to footrest and support-plate assemblies to various engine and primary cover fasteners. That spread is normal for a generic thin nut like this one, it's the kind of fastener the factory used wherever clearance was tight.

Because it appears across so many different figures and years, from the late 1960s through the mid 1980s, the exact spot you need it for probably isn't the only place it fits. If you're chasing down a nut for a prop stand stop specifically, this is the part, but don't be surprised if you find the same PN called out on the mudguards, the clutch mechanism, or the frame section too.
It's cheap enough to keep a handful on the shelf, since it's the sort of hardware that tends to get lost or buggered up during teardown. If you're not sure which exact application you're chasing, bring the old part in and we'll match it up.
