HEAT SINK
Heat sink plate for the zener diode in the charging circuit, mounts alongside the coils, horn, and rectifier.
This is the heat sink for the zener diode setup, part number 82-7237, also catalogued under the older F7237 designation. It shows up in the parts book alongside the D.C. ignition coils, horn, and rectifier and zener diode listings, which tells you right where it lives in the electrical charging circuit.

A zener diode sheds excess current as heat once the battery is topped up, and it needs something to bolt to that can carry that heat away. That's the job this plate does — it mounts the diode and acts as the heat-dissipating surface so the diode doesn't cook itself under load.
If you're chasing a charging fault or a diode that's failed from overheating, check this plate too — a poor mounting surface or bad contact here can shorten a diode's life. We don't have much more written down on this one beyond its place in that ignition/rectifier group of parts, so give us a call if you want to double check fitment before ordering.
