Left-hand exhaust silencer (muffler) for the 1985 model year, per the parts book listing.
This is the left-hand silencer, listed in the exhaust pipes and silencers section of the parts book. It's the muffler that mounts on the left side of the bike, downstream of the header pipe, quieting exhaust note and directing spent gases out past the rear wheel.
