OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY 4 VALVE - TRIUMPH TWIN (LATE MODEL) Can fit some earlier 750 models - requires relieving the timing cover internally
Late-model four-valve oil pump for the Triumph unit twin, also usable on some earlier 750s if the timing cover is relieved internally.
This is the late-model four-valve oil pump for the Triumph unit twin, part number 71-7317. It's the oil pump design used on the later 750 twins, and the catalog notes it can be fitted to some earlier 750 models as well, though that swap isn't a straight bolt-in — it calls for relieving the timing cover internally to clear the pump body.

The oil pump sits behind the timing cover and is what circulates oil through the engine, so it's not a part to guess on. If you're trying to fit this pump into an earlier 750 crankcase or cover, plan on doing the internal clearance work on the timing cover before you button it up.
We only show this one pump number on file, so we don't have a long supersession history to pass along. If you're not sure whether your timing cover already has the clearance cut or needs it done, give us a call and we'll talk through what you're working with before you order.
