Inspection plug
Gearbox cover inspection plug for late-1970s unit-twin Triumph gearboxes.
This is the inspection plug that sits in the gearbox cover, showing up in our records for both the inner cover and selector assembly and the outer cover on late-model unit twins. It's a small threaded plug you'd pull to check or top off gearbox oil level, or to peer in at the selector mechanism without splitting the case.

It's a simple part but an easy one to lose track of if it's been rounded off or stripped over the years, and a plug that won't seal right will let gearbox oil weep out slowly. Catalog appearances put this one on gearboxes from the mid-to-late 1970s.
If you're not sure whether your cover uses this exact plug versus a similar-looking one elsewhere on the case, give us a call before ordering and we'll help you sort it out.
