ROCKER BOX GASKET TRIUMPH 650/750 1971-ON METAL SANDWICH
Metal sandwich rocker box gasket for Triumph 650/750 twins, 1971-on style, replacing the earlier 71-2599.
This is the rocker box gasket for the Triumph 650 and 750 twins, the metal sandwich style that came in on the 1971-on rocker boxes. It seats between the rocker box and the head casting, sealing the oil feed and return passages up top so you're not weeping oil out of the rocker gear every time you tour the driveway. The metal sandwich construction was Triumph's answer to the earlier gasket style, meant to hold up better under repeated head/rocker box removal without crushing out or leaking.

The part number carries an E suffix and shows as the direct replacement for the earlier 71-2599 in the factory numbering, so if your parts book or an old invoice lists 71-2599, this is the current form of that same gasket. Because these live in a spot that gets disturbed anytime you're into the valve gear, it's a good idea to have a fresh one on hand before you crack the rocker box open rather than trying to reuse the old one.
