Valve guide
A valve guide for Triumph unit-construction cylinder heads, part number 70-6301 (also E6301).
This is a valve guide, part number 70-6301, also cataloged as E6301. It shows up in the cylinder block and head figures across a range of Triumph unit-construction twin and single models in our records, spanning years 1966 through 1974.

A valve guide sits pressed into the cylinder head and does the job its name suggests: it guides the valve stem in a straight line as the valve opens and closes, keeping wear even and the valve seating correctly. When a head gets rebuilt or when someone's chasing valve train noise or oil control problems, the guides are one of the first things to inspect.
We show this same part number appearing in figures for the T90, 3TA, T100S, T100C, T100R, T100T, 5TA, and T100 heads, single and twin carburetor versions alike. If you're rebuilding a head, check your own parts book or give us a call so we can confirm this is the right guide for what you've got in front of you.
