Intermediate timing gear
Intermediate timing gear from the crankshaft/timing gear train, also cataloged as E6029.
The 70-6029 is the intermediate timing gear, a part that sits in the timing chest and passes drive between the crankshaft and the camshafts/magneto or distributor gear train. It shows up in the catalog under the CRANKSHAFT AND CONNECTING RODS figure, which is where Triumph grouped it even though its job is really about keeping the valve and ignition timing gears turning in step with the crank.

This one carries the older E6029 designation as well as the 70-6029 number, so if your parts book is from the earlier style of numbering, that's the same physical gear. Our catalog records place it across 1969-1970 appearances, so it's worth double-checking the gear against your own timing chest before ordering, since Triumph revised these gear trains over the years.
If you're pulling the timing chest cover to look at your gears, it's a good time to check the intermediate gear's teeth and bushing/bearing surface for wear, since it does a lot of quiet work keeping everything synchronized.
