CIRCLIP FOR 70-4568
Retaining circlip for the timing cover oil seal, paired with part 70-4568.
This is the circlip that retains the oil seal in the timing cover, keyed to part number 70-4568. It's a small, easy-to-overlook piece, but it's what keeps that seal seated where it belongs so oil stays where it's supposed to and doesn't work its way past the timing side of the engine.

You'll find this one listed alongside timing cover and contact breaker assemblies in the parts books, and it shows up across a long run of catalog years, so it's a part that stuck around largely unchanged. The older book reference for this same clip is E4569, and it also turns up under the number 99142A450 in some listings.
If you're already pulling the timing cover to deal with an oil seal, it's worth having one of these on hand — once a circlip like this has been compressed and worked loose, it doesn't always seat as well going back in.
