Rotor key

A small key that locates the alternator rotor on the crankshaft.

PN · 70-3974
Superseded by 71-0082.

The rotor key is a small locating key that keeps the alternator rotor indexed correctly on the crankshaft. It shows up in the crankshaft and connecting rod section of the parts books, so it lives down in the bottom end where the crank meets the alternator rotor rather than out on the timing side.
