PLUG,TIMING COVER CEI -68 (3/8X26X1/2UH)
A 3/8-26 TPI blanking plug that seals the oil way hole in the timing cover, PN 70-2615 (E2615).
This is the small threaded plug that blanks off the oil way hole in the timing cover, PN 70-2615, also catalogued under the earlier reference E2615. The hole it seals was drilled during manufacture to create the internal oil passage inside the cover, and this plug closes it back up so oil stays where it belongs. Some owners pull this plug and use the port to fit an oil pressure gauge, since it lines up with the internal oil way.

It's a 3/8-26 TPI CEI thread plug, and it turns up across catalog listings for timing cover, contact breaker and crankcase figures from 1960 through 1968. It's a small, easy part to lose track of or overtighten, so it's worth having a spare on hand if you're pulling the timing cover apart.
