End plate for the gear-type oil pump used in the timing chest assembly.
This is the end plate for the oil pump, part number 68-0936, showing up in the parts books under the oil pump and gearbox sprocket figures. The oil pump on these engines is a gear-type unit mounted low in the timing chest, and the end plate closes off one side of the pump body, keeping the gears captive and holding oil pressure where it needs to be rather than leaking past the pump housing.
