American Clutch Cable

Clutch cable for American-style handlebars, sized for the pull from lever to clutch arm on the gearbox.

PN · 60-0565

The 60-0565 is a clutch cable listed in the parts books under the American Handlebars control cable figures. It runs from the clutch lever on the handlebar down to the clutch operating arm at the gearbox, and it's the piece that lets you pull the lever in and actually disengage the clutch instead of just moving a lever for exercise.

This one shows up specifically in the catalog sections covering American-style bars, so it's a different length and routing than the cable spec'd for stock UK bars. It carries the older D565 designation in some parts books before the modern numbering took over, so if you're cross-referencing an old book against a new one, that's the same cable.

Our catalog record ties this to the mid-to-late 1960s unit-construction twin line, appearing across a run of catalog entries in that window. Cable routing and length are particular to bar shape, so if the bike's had a bar swap at some point, check what's actually on there before ordering.
