This is the primary chain, the duplex chain that runs inside the chaincase and carries drive from the engine sprocket back to the clutch. Catalog listing gives it as 0.375 in. duplex, 84 links, and it shows up in the CHAINCASE AND CHAINS section of the parts books. You'll also see it cross-referenced under the older number 114038 X 84 and as D477 in some records.

Duplex primary chains take a lot of abuse sitting in the oil bath of the chaincase, and stretch over time is normal wear. If you're pulling the chaincase cover for a look, it's worth checking chain slack and general condition while you're in there rather than closing it back up and hoping.

This one appears across catalog entries spanning 1964 through 1971, so check it against your own parts book or give us a call if you're not sure it matches what's currently in your chaincase.
