Mainshaft third gear, 23 tooth, for the gearbox cluster, also listed under the old T4169 number.
57-4169 is a mainshaft third gear with 23 teeth, listed in the gearbox shafts and gears section of the parts books. It's one of the pinions that ride on the mainshaft inside the gearbox, part of the gear cluster that gets selected when you're working the gearchange up and down through the ratios.

This one shows up in the catalog under the old T4169 numbering as well as the current 57-4169 form, so if you're working from an older parts book don't be surprised to see it listed that way. Catalog appearances put it in gearboxes from the early '70s.
Gearbox internals like this wear at the dogs and the bore over time, so if you're rebuilding a box that's been slipping out of gear or crunching on shifts, it's worth pulling the cluster and having a look at this gear along with its mating pieces before you put it all back together.
