Pedal locating spring
Small locating spring for a gearbox lever pedal, working with a locating ball to keep the pedal seated in position.

This one shows up across the gearbox outer cover, gearbox outer cover and levers, and gearbox inner cover and selectors figures in our catalogs, spanning a long production run from the mid-1960s into 1980. That kind of spread tells you it's a part that stuck around basically unchanged for a long stretch of unit-gearbox production.
It's a small, inexpensive piece, but if it goes soft or breaks the pedal it locates can feel loose or fail to hold its detent properly. Worth keeping one on hand when you're in the outer cover doing other work, since it's easy to lose track of during reassembly.
