Return spring for a front brake shoe, pulling the shoes off the drum when the brake is released.

This is the return spring for a brake shoe, listed in the front wheel section of the parts books. It's the small spring that pulls the brake shoes back off the drum once you let off the brake lever, keeping the shoes from dragging and helping them center up in the drum.
