PLUNGER,TICKLER
Tickler plunger for an Amal Monobloc carburetor, used to flood the float bowl for cold starting.
This is the tickler plunger for an Amal Monobloc carburetor, part number 376/086. The tickler is that little pin sticking up out of the float chamber top that you press down to flood the float bowl for a cold start, pushing the float down and letting extra fuel rise up into the mixing chamber before you kick the bike over.

It's a small, simple part but it takes a beating - the spring underneath it gets tired, the plunger itself wears where it seals against the float chamber top, and a worn one will either not tickle at all or will weep fuel and flood the carb when you don't want it to. This number shows up across a long run of Amal Monobloc fitments in the parts books, from the 3TA and 5TA carburetter figures through T90, T100 in its various guises, and on into the 6T, TR6, and T120 carb figures.
Given how many different carb figures list this same tickler, it's a part shared across a wide swath of Monobloc-equipped machines rather than something specific to one model. If you're not sure your carb takes this exact tickler, check your parts book figure against what's listed here, or give us a call and we'll sort it out before you order.
