Rear wheel rim (WM2-18)

WM2-18 rear wheel rim (P/N 37-1378), fits standard and quickly-detachable rear wheel setups from the early 1960s catalog listings.

PN · 37-1378

This is the rear wheel rim, catalog number 37-1378, listed as a WM2-18 pattern. WM2-18 tells you the rim profile and the wheel diameter - an 18 inch rim built to the WM2 width standard, which was a common rear rim size on these machines. It shows up under the older alias W1378 as well, so if your parts book from the era lists that number, it's the same rim.

The catalog places this in the rear wheel section, including the quickly-detachable rear wheel arrangement that some of these bikes used. That QD setup lets the rear wheel come out without disturbing the chain or brake much, and this rim is the one built into that assembly as well as the standard rear wheel listing.

Our records show this rim across catalog entries from 1960 to 1962. If you're rebuilding a rear wheel from that era, check your hub and spoke count against this rim before ordering, since rim, hub, and spoke length all have to match up for a proper build.
