THIN NUT 3/4 UNF REAR WHEEL AXLE - TRIUMPH 500/650
Thin 3/4 UNF axle nut for the rear wheel spindle on Triumph 500 and 650 twins.
This is the thin axle nut that secures the rear wheel spindle on Triumph 500 and 650 twins, threaded 3/4 UNF. It's the smaller, low-profile nut used where the rear axle passes through the quickly-detachable wheel setup, and it shows up across several of the rear wheel figures in the parts books for these machines. The catalog places it in service from the mid to late 1960s across the 500 and 650 lines.

The legacy part number W1282 is just the older book form of this same nut - if you're working from an early parts list and see that number, it's the same part as 37-1282.
It's a small, easy-to-overlook item, but it's worth keeping fresh stock on hand since it's the fastener holding your rear wheel on the spindle. Some versions we've seen come through in stainless or chrome finishes rather than the original plain steel, so check what your bike actually has before ordering a replacement if finish matching matters to you.
