Anchor plate nut ss
The nut that clamps the front brake anchor plate to the front wheel spindle on pre-unit and early unit Triumph twins.
This is the nut that locks the front brake anchor plate down onto the front wheel spindle. It shows up across the front wheel figures for the pre-unit and early unit twins, including the TR6 and U.S.A. T120 listings and the 6T and T120 figure, so it's a common item on full-width front hub setups from the mid-to-late '60s catalogs.

The anchor plate carries the brake shoes and backing, and it has to stay pulled up tight against the hub so the brake doesn't shift or rotate under load. This nut is what holds that clamping force in place on the spindle. It's a small, simple part, but if it's worn, buggered up, or missing, the anchor plate can work loose and the front brake won't do its job right.
You'll also see this part number written as W1246 in older parts books - same physical nut, just the earlier letter-prefix numbering. If you're pulling your front wheel apart for a hub rebuild or brake service, it's worth checking this nut and having a fresh one on hand.
