Rear wheel rim (WM3-18)

Rear wheel rim, WM3-18 section, 18 inch, for the quickly-detachable rear wheel setup.

PN · 37-1001

This is the rear wheel rim, WM3-18 section, listed under part number 37-1001 (the earlier form of this number appears in some books as W1001). It shows up in the quickly-detachable rear wheel figure, so it belongs to that style of QD rear hub setup rather than a standard bolt-up wheel.

The rim itself is just the hoop the spokes pull to and the tire seats on - WM3-18 tells you the rim profile and the wheel size, 18 inch. On a QD wheel this rim gets built onto the quick-detach hub assembly so the rear wheel can come off without disturbing the chain or brake.

Our catalog record on this one is thin - it only turns up in two entries tied to 1964 - so before you order, check it against your own hub and spoke pattern to make sure it's the right rim for your build.
