Oil pump stud

Oil pump mounting stud for the crankcase, PN 21-1864, also known as S1864.

PN · 21-1864

This is the stud that holds the oil pump to the crankcase, part number 21-1864, also listed under the older S1864 form. It shows up across the oil pump and release valve figures as well as the crankcase and manifold/tappet drawings, which tells you it's a fastener doing structural duty right at the pump mounting face rather than anything inside the pump itself.

Because the oil pump bolts up tight against the crankcase, these studs take some heat and vibration over the years, and it's common for the threads to get buggered up on removal if someone's been careless with a socket. If you're pulling the pump for a rebuild or inspection, it's worth checking the studs while you're in there rather than fighting with tired threads later.

The catalog carries this part across a long production stretch on the unit twins, so it's a part that stays in demand. Pair it with the correct nut when you order, since the stud alone doesn't do you much good without the right nut on the other end.
