This is an Amal throttle slide, cut to the 3½ profile, listed in the carburetor section of the parts book. The slide rides inside the carb body and its cutaway shape is what shapes the throttle response as the twistgrip opens the slide off idle. Different cutaway numbers change how much air gets past the slide before the needle and main jet take over, so the number stamped on this one matters if you're trying to match what came out of your carb.
