BSA Washer, brake lever to cam spindle (7/16" × 3/4" × 1/16")

A 7/16 x 3/4 x 1/16 inch washer fitted between the rear brake lever and the cam spindle.

PN · 15-0431

This is a small flat washer, 7/16 x 3/4 x 1/16 inch, that fits at the brake lever where it pivots on the cam spindle at the rear brake plate. It's a simple spacer washer, not much to look at, but it keeps the lever riding correctly against the cam and stops it from binding or wearing sideways against the brake backplate.

Our records show this one turning up in the rear wheel and rear carrier/short seat/safety bars figures, with catalog appearances running 1969 to 1970. It also shows up under the alternate number 15-431, which is just a formatting variant of the same part.

It's a cheap piece of hardware to lose track of, but if it's missing the lever can sit crooked or work loose over time. Worth checking when you're servicing the rear brake linkage.
