BSA Nut, rear damper bottom mounting (3/8" Unified Fine)
3/8 inch UNF nut for the rear damper's bottom mounting on the swinging arm.
This is the nut that secures the bottom mounting of the rear damper (shock) on the swinging arm. It's a 3/8 inch Unified Fine nut, the size that shows up in the parts book under the SWINGING ARM AND SUSPENSION UNITS listings. The old-style part number 14-903 is the same nut, just the earlier form of 14-0903.

It sits down at the lower end of the rear shock where it pins into the swinging arm, holding that joint together so the shock can do its job of controlling wheel movement. Nothing fancy about it, but it's the kind of small fastener that's easy to lose track of when you've got the rear end apart, so it's worth having a spare on hand.
