Torque stay nut
7/16 UNF nut used at various frame and torque-stay mounting points on Triumph twins, PN 14-0304.
This is a nut used at the torque stay mounting point on the frame, part number 14-0304 (also shown in older books as 14-304 or 14·0304). It shows up across a wide swath of the parts books — frame and fittings sections, engine unit fittings and footrests, swinging fork and suspension pages, even battery carrier and crankcase drawings — which tells you this is a general-application fastener that Triumph used in more than one spot rather than a single dedicated part.

Thread spec on this one is 7/16 UNF, 20 TPI, so if you're sourcing a replacement make sure whatever you buy matches that thread before you thread it onto a stud or bolt.
Given how many different figures this nut turns up in over more than a decade of production, it's worth keeping a few in the parts drawer. If you're not sure which mounting point yours came off, the catalog record doesn't pin it to one location — check against the stud or bolt it's meant to run on before you order.
