NUT, LOWER FORK BEARING RETAINING 1963-67 TRI (LARGE RESTRICTOR CONE)
This is the lower fork bearing retaining nut, part number 97-1058, also catalogued under the legacy number H1058. It's a Triumph part that lives at the bottom of the front fork leg, where it retains the lower fork bushing and seats against the oil restrictor cone inside the fork lower member. The catalog notes this one as the large restrictor cone version for 1963-67.

It shows up across a wide run of telescopic fork figures in the parts books, covering the 6T, TR6, T120, T90, T100 family, 3TA, 5TA, and the T20SS/T20SH small twins, which tells you this fork architecture was shared across a lot of the lineup during those years. The thread on this nut is cut to 26 TPI CEI, so it's not a generic hardware-store fastener - get the right one for your fork bottom.
If you're rebuilding a fork lower leg and the old nut is buggered up, corroded, or the restrictor cone seat is worn, this is the part to replace it with. Check your own fork's cone profile against the large restrictor cone spec before ordering, since the books show more than one version across these years.
