SEAT HINGE W/STOP
Seat hinge with integral stop for Triumph 750 twins, part number 83-7542.
This is the seat hinge with built-in stop for Triumph 750 twins, part number 83-7542. It's the piece that lets the seat swing up for access underneath while keeping it from flopping too far back and putting strain on the seat base or trim.

The stop feature is worth noting because on earlier bikes the seat relied on a check wire to limit travel; this hinge does that job mechanically instead, so it can also be used to do away with the wire on earlier 750 twins if you want to simplify things back there. It shows up in the parts books listed for the T140 and TR7 twin family.
It's a small, simple bracket, but it's the kind of thing that's easy to overlook until the seat's flopping around or the trim's getting chewed up at the pivot point. If you're rebuilding the seat mounting on one of these bikes it's worth checking the condition of this hinge along with the rest of the hardware.
