NUT 3/4X20 - REAR WHEEL AXLE TRIUMPH 500/650 - STANDARD THICKNESS

Rear wheel axle nut for Triumph 500/650 twins, 3/4 x 20 thread, standard thickness.

PN · 82-1747
Available in 2 finishes:
StandardChrome

This is the rear wheel axle nut for Triumph 500 and 650 twins, standard thickness, thread size 3/4 x 20. It's the nut that clamps down on the outer end of the rear axle to hold the wheel in place, and it shows up in both the standard rear wheel and quickly-detachable rear wheel setups in the parts books. Catalog listings for it run from 1960 into 1969 across a long list of appearances, so it's a part that stuck around basically unchanged for most of that run.

Older parts books may list this under the F1747 or 21-0585 numbers - same physical nut, just the earlier numbering system. If you're pulling a rear wheel for tire work, bearing service, or a chain adjustment, this is a good one to look at closely for thread wear or rounded corners before you put it back on.
