Norton Crankcase Dowel
A crankcase dowel that locates and aligns the two crankcase halves during assembly.
NM.11790 is a crankcase dowel, a small locating pin that keeps the two crankcase halves aligned to each other when they're bolted together. It doesn't carry load on its own, but it's what keeps the case halves registered so the bearings, bushes, and mating faces line up the same way every time the engine is split and rebuilt.

This one shows up in the catalog under the crankcase and breather section, alongside the crankcase breather and tachometer drive parts, across both the 750 and 850 engine listings we have on file. It's a piece that's easy to overlook during a rebuild since it's small and just sits in its bore, but if it's worn, bent, or missing, the cases won't seat true.
Our records tie this part number to catalog appearances from the early 1970s, but we don't have a specific model tied to it beyond that. Give the shop a call if you want us to confirm it matches what you're working on before you order.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
