Top Yoke

Top yoke for the telescopic front fork, clamps the fork tubes and carries the steering stem; later superseded by 97-4541.

PN · 97-7081
Superseded by 97-4541.

This is the top yoke off the telescopic front fork assembly, the plate that clamps the fork tubes together up top and carries the steering stem through the frame's headstock. It's the piece the handlebars mount to (through their own clamps) and it's what ties the two fork legs into one steering unit up at the top of the fork.

Catalog records show this one appearing in front fork listings from 1979 through 1983. Triumph later superseded this part number with 97-4541, so if you're working from a later parts book or a later bike, that's the number you'll find it under instead. Both numbers refer to the same physical piece.

If you're replacing a top yoke, check how your steering stem and clamp bolts are set up before you order, since fork top-end details changed across the years this part covers. Give us a call if you're not sure which number matches your bike's book.
