97-4481 is the right-hand outer cover from the telescopic front fork assembly. It's a cosmetic cover that sits on the fork leg, dressing up the area where the headlamp brackets mount, and it's the mirror-image piece to the left-hand cover on the other side.

This one shows up in the fork parts book across catalog listings running from the early '70s through the late '70s, so it's a part that stuck around across several seasons of production. When you're ordering, make sure you're getting the right-hand piece specifically — the left and right covers are not the same casting.
If you're restoring the front end and the old covers are pitted, cracked, or missing altogether, this is the piece to replace on the right side. Check your existing cover's condition and mounting points against what you pull off the bike before you commit to the order.
