Headlamp bracket—L.H.
Left-hand headlamp mounting bracket for the front forks, part number 97-4088 (also known as H4088).
This is the left-hand headlamp bracket, part number 97-4088, also listed under the older H4088 number. It's one of a pair that mounts the headlamp shell to the front forks, and it's specific to the left side of the bike, not interchangeable side to side.

It shows up in the front fork section of the parts books, which is where you'd expect it — these brackets bolt to the fork leg or fork lug and hold the lamp shell steady, taking the vibration and road shock so the headlamp doesn't rattle loose. Our catalog record only ties this one to a single year appearance, so if you're matching up an older bike, double check what you've got on the bench against this number before you order.
If you're replacing one side, it's worth looking at the right-hand mate too since both brackets tend to show wear and corrosion at the same rate after decades on the road.
