Bottom yoke and stem

Bottom fork yoke and steering stem assembly for the telescopic front fork, also listed as H4082.

PN · 97-4082

The 97-4082 is the bottom yoke and stem assembly off the telescopic front fork, the piece that connects the two fork legs down low and carries the steering stem down through the frame's steering head. It's the part the fork sliders clamp into at the bottom, and it works together with the top yoke to keep both legs moving in unison. The steering stem itself rides in the frame's head bearings, so this yoke is really the anchor point for the whole front end.

Catalog records show this one appearing in the telescopic front fork listings for 1971, and it's also known under the older H4082 part number if you're working from an earlier parts book.

A bottom yoke takes a fair amount of stress over the years, between road shock and steering loads, so if you're replacing one it's worth having someone check the fork legs and steering stem bearings while things are apart. Give us a call if you want to talk through fitment before ordering.
