SEALING WASHER FORK BOLT 5/16
Sealing washer that fits under the fork bolt to stop oil leaking from the bottom of the fork lower.
This is the sealing washer that sits under the fork bolt where it threads into the damper rod assembly at the bottom of the fork lower. It's a small item but it does real work: without a sound washer here, fork oil finds its way past the bolt and starts weeping down the outside of the slider, which is one of the most common oil leaks on these front ends.

The catalog lists it as a 5/16 fork bolt sealing washer, and it turns up across the telescopic front fork figures from the early '70s into the late '70s. You'll also see it referred to by its older H4004 form in earlier parts books, same physical washer.
Because it's compressed between the bolt head and the fork lower every time the bolt is torqued down, it's not something to reuse indefinitely. If you're pulling the fork bolts for any reason, service, damper work, oil change, it's worth having a fresh one on hand rather than putting the old one back and hoping it still seals.
