BSA Split pin (3/32" × 1/2")
A 3/32 in. x 1/2 in. split pin listed in the front fork parts figure.
This is a small split pin, 3/32 inch by 1/2 inch, that turns up in the front fork parts listing. Split pins like this one are used to lock a nut or clevis pin in place so it can't work loose under vibration - cheap insurance in the sense that it's a one-time-use fastener you replace rather than reuse once it's been opened up.

The catalog places it in the front fork figure for 1971-1972, but our records don't spell out exactly which fork component it secures. If you're rebuilding a fork end to end, it's worth having a few of these on hand since you'll bend the legs open to fit and shouldn't put a used one back in.
Given the size and how it's cataloged, this reads as a general-purpose small split pin rather than something unique to one bike - but confirm the fitment on your fork assembly before you order if you're not sure it's the right one for the job.
