CUP,HANDLEBAR MOUNTING
A cupped washer that locates the steady rubber under the handlebar mounting eyebolt on Triumph (and some BSA) handlebar clamps.
The 97-2221 is a small cupped washer that goes under the handlebar mounting eyebolt assembly. It seats against the steady rubber and keeps it located properly as the mounting bolt is tightened down, so the handlebar clamp sits square and doesn't chew into the rubber over time. It shows up in the parts books under the handlebar mounting and steering damper figures, as well as the general handlebar and control lever listings.

On the shelf it's also known by the old letter-prefix number H2221, which is the same part under the earlier numbering system. It's a cheap thing to overlook but if it's missing or crushed you'll feel it in a loose or clunky feeling handlebar mount.
