Metalastik bush
Rubber Metalastik bush that isolates the speedometer/tachometer mounting bracket from vibration.
This is the Metalastik bush that sits in the speedometer and tachometer mounting bracket. It's the little bonded-rubber isolator that lets the gauge bracket float slightly rather than transmitting every bit of engine and road vibration straight into the instrument housing. Over the years the rubber hardens and cracks, and once that happens the gauges start rattling loose in their bracket even with the mounting bolts snugged down properly.

In the catalog this part also shows up under the older H1929 number, so if your parts book is from an earlier printing that's the number you'll find it under. It appears across gauge-mounting figures from 1966 through 1974, so it's a long-running item in the instrument-bracket assembly.
These bushes are cheap insurance against a wobbly speedo or tach, and given how brittle old rubber gets, it's worth checking condition any time the instruments are off the bike for other work.
