Oil seal
Fork oil seal for Triumph telescopic front forks, keeps damping oil in the fork leg where the stanchion meets the lower slider.
This is the fork oil seal, part number 97-1500, older parts books list it as H1500. It shows up across a wide run of Triumph telescopic front fork figures in our catalog, covering the 6T, TR6, T120, and TR6R/T120R forks as well as the smaller 3TA/5TA and T90/T100 series forks, so it's one of the more common seals to have on the shelf.

The seal lives down in the fork leg where the stanchion tube passes into the lower slider, keeping the fork oil inside the leg where it belongs instead of weeping out past the sliding tube. On these external-spring forks that oil is what damps the action, so a tired or hardened seal here is a common cause of a fork leg that's gone dry or feels harsh on one side compared to the other.
Given how many different fork figures this same number turns up in, it's worth pulling the old seal and matching it up rather than assuming, but 97-1500 is the number to work from either way. If you're only replacing one leg it's worth doing both while you're in there, since if one's gone the other usually isn't far behind.
