Styling side panel R.H. Candy-apple red
Right-hand side panel in candy-apple red, fits behind the seat on the right side of the bike.
This is the right-hand side panel in candy-apple red, the small cover that tucks in behind the seat on one side of the frame between the seat and the rear fender. It's a styling piece, not a structural or mechanical part, and it's specific to the right side of the bike, so don't mix it up with its left-hand mate.

The catalog places this panel in the air cleaner and side panels section, which is where these covers live on the parts diagrams alongside the air filter housing they sit near. Our record for this one only shows a single catalog appearance from 1979, so we don't have a broader model history to point to beyond that.
If you're matching paint or trying to figure out what year bike this came off, give us a call and we'll go over what we've got before you order. Color match on candy-apple red can vary batch to batch, so it's worth checking against your own panel or fuel tank if you're trying to get a close match.
