Crankcase breather pipe ~ front
Front crankcase breather pipe (D-shaped hose) for 750 twins, connecting the breather outlet stub to the T-fitting, 1974-78.
This is the front breather pipe off the crankcase breather system on the 750 twins, part number 83-5285. It's the D-shaped hose that connects to the breather outlet stub and routes crankcase pressure and oil mist along to the T-fitting downstream, keeping things from pressurizing where they shouldn't. It shows up in the catalogs across the CHAINCASE AND CHAINS, GEARBOX INNER COVER AND SELECTORS, and FRAME figures, which tells you the routing runs through that whole area of the bike rather than sitting in one tidy spot.

Catalog appearances put this on the books for 1974 through 1978. It's a simple rubber part that gets brittle and cracked with age, and since it's tucked in around the chaincase and frame it's easy to miss until it starts leaking oil mist or letting the system breathe wrong. Clips hold it to the outlet stub and the T-fitting on each end.
If you're going through the breather system on a 750 twin from this era, it's worth pulling this hose and giving it a look even if it seems fine from the outside — old rubber in a hot spot like this doesn't always show its age until it fails.
