Crankcase breather pipe—rear

Rear crankcase breather pipe for the oil tank/breather system, Triumph PN 83-1614 (aka F11614).

PN · 83-1614

This is the rear crankcase breather pipe, Triumph part number 83-1614, also listed under the older F11614 number. It shows up in the catalog under the oil tank and breather pipe figures, which tells you where it lives in the system: it's one of the pipes that route crankcase pressure away from the engine, working alongside the oil tank and the other breather line up front.

The rear breather pipe carries blow-by and case pressure out to atmosphere so the crankcase doesn't build up pressure that can push oil past seals and gaskets. On these bikes the breather system runs from the crankcase through pipework near the oil tank and frame, and this is the rear-routed half of that setup.

If yours has gone brittle, cracked, or split at a fitting, that's a common reason to replace it — a bad breather pipe can let pressure escape where it shouldn't or let it build up where you don't want it. Catalog listings for this part run from 1970 to 1974, so check that against your bike before ordering.
