BSA Stud, battery carrier (1/4" British Standard Cycle)
A 1/4 inch BSC-threaded stud for mounting the battery carrier to the frame.
This is a stud that holds the battery carrier onto the frame, threaded 1/4 inch British Standard Cycle. It's a small, plain piece of hardware but it does the job of keeping the battery tray anchored where it bolts up under the seat area, according to the parts-book figures that place it.

It shows up in the frame section drawings alongside the footrests and engine shield entries, so it's part of the general battery carrier mounting hardware rather than anything specific to the battery itself. Catalog appearances for this stud run 1969 to 1970 in our records.
If you're rebuilding the battery mount or just missing a stud, this is a straightforward replacement. Check your thread against what's on the bike before ordering since BSC threads aren't the same as common UNF hardware you'll find at a regular hardware store.
