Filler cap — oil tank
Filler cap for the oil tank, doubling as the dipstick housing, shown in 1973 catalog records.
This is the filler cap for the oil tank, PN 82-8627. It's the cap you pull off to top up the tank and check the dipstick, sitting right on top of the oil tank where it's easy to get at. Catalog records show it appearing in the OIL TANK AND COOLER figure for the 1973 model year.

The cap doubles as the dipstick housing on these tanks, so when you pull it you're checking your level at the same time as filling. If yours is stripped, cracked, or won't seat right anymore, a worn cap is an easy way to weep oil out the top of the tank without noticing.
We only have this one tied to the 1973 catalog listing, so if you're working on a different year, give us a call and we'll confirm it's the right cap before you order.
