Front chainguard

Front chainguard extension piece that closes the gap in chain coverage near the swinging arm.

PN · 82-6046

This is the front chainguard extension piece, part number 82-6046, sometimes found under the older F6046 alias. It shows up in the parts book under the swinging arm, suspension units, and chaingaurd figure, which puts it right down at the rear frame section where the chain runs alongside the swinging fork.

Its job is straightforward: it extends the coverage of the front section of the chainguard, keeping road grime and chain oil off the rider's leg and off the chain itself where the standard guard leaves a gap. It is a small stamped piece, not a structural part, so fitment is mostly about matching it up correctly with the rest of your chainguard assembly.

Our records show this one appearing across a decade's worth of catalog listings, so it was in production for a good while under this number. If you are trying to match it to a specific model, give the shop a call and we will confirm before you order.
