SEAT J HOOK HINGE
J-hook style hinge that mounts and pivots the twinseat, part 82-4222 (also F4222).
This is the J-hook style hinge that mounts the twinseat to the frame on the underside of the seat. It's the small pivoting bracket that lets the seat lift and lock down again, and it's part number 82-4222, also cataloged under the older F4222 designation. Two are typically needed per bike since the seat pivots or locks at more than one point, so check what's currently on your machine before ordering a single unit.

The part shows up in the parts book under the Panels and Twinseat figures, which places it squarely in the bodywork mounting hardware for the seat assembly rather than anything structural to the frame itself. It's a small, unglamorous piece, but a worn or bent hinge is often the reason a seat won't sit flush or latch properly.
Our catalog record spans appearances from 1960 through 1967, so this hinge turns up across a run of seat assemblies from that era. If you're not sure whether your seat pan uses this exact hinge versus a later oil-in-frame version, bring it in or give us a call and we'll confirm before you order.
