This is the front number plate for TR5/6 models, listed in the catalog under the MUDGUARDS section. It carried the earlier part number F2996 before Triumph moved to the modern numbering scheme, so if you're working from an older book or a takeoff bin, F2996 and 82-2996 are the same physical piece.
